Mercedes DonahueSeptember 24, 1938August 27, 2017Mercedes Donahue, affectionately known as Mercy, died peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the age of 78.Mercy was born on September 24, 1938 in Schertz, Texas to Jesus Grimaldo and Enriqueta Herrera. Mercy was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Sam Donahue who was the musical director for the Nugget's Circus Showroom Orchestra.She is survived by her sons John H. King, Las Vegas, Nevada and Kelly Duran; her daughters, Gina Rodriguez and her husband, David and Shannon Donahue-Kimberlin and her husband, John; grandchildren Dustin King and his wife Jaime; Megan Duran, Matthew Duran and John S. Kimberlin; great grandchildren, Frankee Rae King and Rocco King.Mercy worked for John Ascuaga's Nugget for over 30 years beginning in the 1960's. She was a people's person with a great personality and built many long term friendships with both customers and employees. Through the years she collected signed photographs of entertainers, musicians and politicians and today her collection contains several hundred framed photos and clippings that adorn her garage or kept in albums. Her collection or "galleria" as she liked to call it was a reminder of all the good times she had.She will be deeply missed by all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and family and friends in Texas.A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Mortuary, 425 Stoker Ave. Reno, Nv. 89503.
