Grimm, MelvinMelvin O. Grimm, 84, of Marshfield, passed away in his home peacefully on September 1, 2017.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the United Church of Christ, 8229 Jackson Street, Pittsville Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, and also from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery in Pittsville, Wisconsin.Melvin was born on June 8, 1933 to Charles O. and Velva (Stroh) Grimm. He attended Good Cheer grade school and graduated from Pittsville High School. On October 1, 1951 he was united in marriage to Janis Pfundheller. Melvin worked with his father farming and also helped with driving the dump trucks. He bought a milk route and hauled canned and then bulk milk. He hauled milk for 34 years, first into Hub City, then Morning Glory Farms and finally Fore Most Farms until selling his milk route to his son-in-law. He and Janis also farmed in rural Pittsville until 1973 when they moved into Marshfield. After retiring, Melvin delivered trucks for V&H in Marshfield for 15 years. When he took new trucks to truck shows he would joke that this was the only times in his life that he ever got a paid vacation.Melvin enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Phillips on Lake Solberg for 30 years. He took pleasure in water skiing and teaching his children and grand-children how to water ski. Melvin rode his motorcycle until age 76. He also enjoyed bowling. He and Janis square danced and loved to travel. They took a cruise to Alaska on their 50th wedding anniversary. Melvin is survived by his wife; Janis, children; Gary (Sharon) Grimm of Marshfield, Marilyn (Gerry) Iwanski of Hewitt, Peggy Grimm of San Diego, California and Carolyn (Mike) Kohlbeck of Stillwater, Minnesota, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister; Betty Fredette, Pittsville.Besides his parents, Charles and Velva Grimm, he was preceded in death by infant son; Arlan, father and mother-in-law; Fred and Ona Pfundheller, sister-in-law; Eleanor Ewer and brothers-in -law; Harold Ewer and Richard Fredette.
