Mellisa White , 71, passed on December 20, 2022. She was born to Timothy and Susan Dilson on June 02, 1951.

She married Micheal White in 1976 and they lived together in Hay-Market, Virginia. Together they raised 2 children Troy White (Linda ), Rhoda (Frank ). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Mellisa graduated from Battlefield High School in 1969 and received a degree from the University of Virginia (UVA) in 1977.

Mellisa worked at Inova Fairfax Hospital as a Cardiothoracic surgeon until she retired in 2017 and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. In 2004, Mellisa was honored with the ASA Flance-Karl Award.

A Vistation will be held on Dec 28, 2022 from 6pm-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Dec 29, 2022 at 11am. Both events taking place at Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas. After the funeral service internment will take place to Stonewall Memory Gardens.

Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas is serving the family. Arangments are being held through Funeral Director Jennifer Preston.

Memorial contributions can be made to the National Cancer Institute.
