Melissa Gotti-Agnello, aged 58, passed away on October 16, 2024, in Milton, WI. Born on September 8, 1966, Melissa dedicated 40 years of her life serving as a distinguished prosecutor for Rock County, Green County, Jefferson County, Dane County, Dodge County, and Walworth County district attorneys' offices. Known for her formidable presence in court, she boasted a trial and conviction success rate of 99%. After retiring in 2023, she continued her mission at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, specializing in the prosecution of human trafficking and sex crimes until her medical retirement in September 2024.
Melissa was a proud veteran of the Army, serving for five years, bringing the same level of dedication and fight she showed in every aspect of her life. Her academic journey included studies at Ensworth Private School, Duke University, University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Chicago, which prepared her for her notable career. She worshipped at Central Christian Church in Janesville, WI, where she was a beloved member of the community. Melissa's personal life was as vibrant as her professional one. She enjoyed kayaking, camping, attending car shows, visiting the cabin in Nashville, and spend time with her family.
Her commitment to her children and their success was unparalleled, always encouraging them to be their best selves.
Melissa is survived by her sons, Dakota Kelly, Nathan Miller, and Robert Miller; daughters, Lily Townsend, Rachel Miller, and Lila Russell; and husband, Nels Miller. She faced life with extraordinary bravery, overcoming six battles with various cancers, earning her the reputation of a true warrior among her coworkers and loved ones.
