On June 18, 2024, Melinda Chavez of Carlsbad, New Mexico, danced her way to heaven at the age of 70. She was born on February 18, 1954, to her proud parents, Librado and Lucia.

Melinda married the love of her life, Joe Chavez, in 1987, and together they raised three wonderful children: Johnny Brito, Danny Brito (spouse Maria Brito), and Melissa Brito. Melinda was also a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren.

Her infectious laughter and love for life will be remembered by all who knew her. Melinda was known for her incredible cooking skills, her love of music, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She was a true ray of sunshine in the lives of those around her.

While our hearts ache at the loss of Melinda, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones in heaven. Rest in peace, Melinda, and keep dancing among the stars.
