Maxine Hendrick was born on September 12, 1925, in Klamath Falls, OR, to Mabel and Harvey Copeland. She passed away in Fresno, CA, on Monday, December 12, 2016. From Oregon, she ventured to the bay area and was joined by childhood friend, Helen Smades. It was due to Helen that Maxine traveled to Fresno and met Jimbo, the love of her life. She and Jimbo loved raising their two active daughters, watching their grandchildren grow, and participating in their various sports. Maxine enjoyed spending time volunteering at La Tienda Gift Shop and Holiday Boutique, benefitting Valley Children's Hospital. She enjoyed creative activities from designing her daughters' talent show costumes to knitting the Fresno State pep team uniforms. Always an avid learner, she valued the importance of continually expanding your mind. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, James Hendrick. Maxine will be deeply missed by her daughters, Susan Visser and husband Chris, and Peggy Jelmini and husband Rick. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, whom she adored, Catherine Randall, Elizabeth Helon, Caroline Yrulegui, Jonathan Jelmini, Matthew Jelmini, and their families; including two great-grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at Sabor Mexican Bistro located at 4045 W. Figarden Drive, Fresno, CA, at 12:30 p.m. The family requests that remembrances kindly be made to Valley Children's Hospital.
