TOPEKA — Mary Susana "Sue" Yoder, 81, of Topeka, Indiana, passed away on Nov. 29, 2016, at home. She was born on July 19, 1935, in Goshen, Indiana, to Charles M. and Eva M. (Smith) Speicher. She married Phil E. Yoder on June 18, 1954, in Goshen, Indiana. She is survived by her husband, Phil Yoder, of Topeka; four sons, Jay D. Yoder of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Tim P. (Kendra) Yoder of Palmetto, Florida, Peter S. (Andrea) Yoder of LaOtto, Indiana, and Dennis B. (Becky) Yoder of Middlebury, Indiana; a daughter, Kerin D. (Mark) Miller of Topeka, Indiana; four grandchildren, Jordan (Amanda) Yoder, Tyler Yoder, Sharisse Yoder and Peyton Miller; a brother, David M. (Carol Ann) Speicher of Marysville, Ohio; and a brother-in-law, Ted Thompson of New Lennox, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Thompson. Mrs. Yoder was a homemaker and a teacher's aide for Westview School Corp. She was a member of Topeka Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She taught BSF in Ligonier for a number of years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing and has spent the last few years wintering in Florida. A procession will form at the church Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at 10 a.m. for the burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Topeka. A funeral service in her honor will be at Topeka Mennonite Church, 206 E. Lake St. in Topeka at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Harold Gingerich will officiate. Visitation will be at Topeka Mennonite Church on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Menno-Hof.
