Mary Ruth Long of Oscoda, formerly of East Tawas, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Saginaw St. Mary's Hospital, age 77. Mary was born on June 22, 1938 in Royal Oak to George and Florence Harding. She graduated from Tawas Area High School, Class of 1956. She married Richard W. Long on Sept. 30, 1959. Mary stayed at home during her working years to raise their three daughters and a grandson. She and her husband operated the R&M Coins, Antiques, and Collectibles store in Oscoda and she enjoyed working and helping people at the store. Mary is survived by her husband, Richard Long of Oscoda; three daughters, Laurie Long (John Bednarski) of Oscoda, Valerie Bassim of Oscoda and Cheryl Long (Shiela) of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandsons, Dustin, Greyson and Jim; one granddaughter, Sidney; one great granddaughter, Avery; and four brothers, Robert, William, John and George. Mary was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla; and two sisters, Elaine and Peggy. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 29 at 1 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
