1926 ~ 2016Mary Barlow Olsen Starley, 90, returned to her loving Heavenly Father on December 15, 2016 of causes incidental to age. She was residing at the Canyon Lane Assisted Living in Santaquin, Utah. She was born on March 3, 1926 in Centerfield Utah to Mary Abby Moss and Altheron Barlow. She grew up in Centerfield attending the Elementary School and Gunnison High School where she was involved in many school activities.She married Newell J. Olsen April 7, 1943 in Evanston, Wyoming. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on July 16, 1963. They lived in Fayette, Utah until the death of her husband, Newel, November 20, 1961 at the age of 36. She moved with her children to Centerfield Utah by her mother, Mary Moss Barlow, where she lived and cared for her. She became a dental assistant after attending Snow College and later worked to help people with disabilities. She loved to sew and cook.Mary has been an active member in the LDS church serving in various callings and presidencies.She married Lynn A. Starley December 16, 1978 in Provo, Utah and resided there for 33 years. Lynn passed away on July 14, 2004. While she was living in Provo, she worked as a pink lady at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for many years and volunteered at the Provo Temple.She is survived by three children, Laraine (Larry) Kearns, JoAnn (Craig) Dansie and Jay Newell (Jeri) Olsen. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Leona Ann Olsen and her infant son, Kenneth Alvin Olsen, one brother, Alvin Robert Barlow and six sisters, Erma Brough, Cleo Rawlingson, Thelma Myrup, Veona Hendrickson, Doris Scow, Maxine Sondrup. Also survived by her stepchildren, Jack (Judy) Starley and Merlyn Starley, Ted(Janice) Starley deceased.A very special thanks to all of those that helped care for our dear, sweet mother.Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grandview Chapel, 1100 Grand Ave. Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.. Burial will be in Fayette, Utah at 3:30 in the Fayette Cemetery.
