Mary Lue (Brown) Furse, of Rolla, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the age of 88.She was born on October 5, 1928 in Phelps County, Missouri to the late James Thomas Brown and Ruby Blanch (Hudgens) Brown. In 1946 she was united in marriage to Leonard Lee Furse at a Methodist Church in St. Louis, Missouri.Mary was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Rolla. She attended grade school at Hickory Point School, located on the Little Piney River, and graduated from Newburg High School.Mary worked in a Munitions Plant in St. Louis until the end of WWII. After WWII she worked 37 years for the Department of Defense at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years, Leonard in October 2014, one sister Helen Brown and one brother William Ballard Brown. Mary is survived by her son Randall Furse and special friend Karen Carmack of Rolla, MO, three grandchildren, Travis Mark Furse of San Antonio, TX, Justin Lee Furse and wife Eva of Rolla, MO, and Kathleen Gale Karr of San Antonio, TX, seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Hudson, Parker, Tristen, Lenlee, Evan, and Kendall, one sister Joyce Ann Sherrell and husband Larry of Rolla, MO, one brother James Robert Brown of Rolla, MO, one sister-in-law Lila Furse of Doolittle, MO. She will be missed by her family, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. A Funeral service for Mary Furse will be conducted on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri with Rev. Bill LaMora officiating.
