Mary Madelyn GilbertMANSFIELD: Mary Madelyn Gilbert, 79, of Mansfield passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Mary was born on January 11, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Chauncey Krause and Edna Elizabeth Ayers.Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking and was always preparing her families favorite dishes for them. She enjoyed doing crafts and was the head of craft activities at the Troy Senior Center when living in Troy.She is survived by her husband, Frank Gilbert; her sons, Frank (Maren) Gilbert of Columbus and Brad (Michalle) Gilbert of Mansfield; grandchildren, Cheyenne (Eli) Beal of Kansas, and Patrick Gilbert of Mansfield; sister, Nancy (Phil) Schlaegel of Columbus; brother, Merle (Geneveve) Krause of Zanesville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by two brothers, Rodney and Ken Krause; and two sisters, Jackie Miller and Francis Calland.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S.
