On Sunday October 5, 2014 our dear friend MaryEllen Stanton left our side to walk with with God in Heaven. MaryEllen was born April 8, 1938 in Rochester, New York. As a young woman, MaryEllen lived in Los Angeles and then settled on the Monterey Peninsula as her permanent home. A successful, accomplished career in banking followed. MaryEllen retired from Monterey Savings and Loan in 1988 after over 15 years. She was then a Senior Vice President for Monterey County Bank for 20 years until her retirement in 2008. MaryEllen was known for her kindness and giving spirit. She volunteered for Community Hospital Auxiliary and was a loving supporter of the SPCA of Monterey County. MaryEllen is survived by her very close, treasured friends she considered to be her family. She will be dearly missed. Her greatest joy was making others happy. At her request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions in MaryEllen’s memory can be made to The Carmelite Monastery, 2706 Highway One, Carmel Ca., the SPCA of Monterey County or Community Hospital Auxiliary, causes she supported and loved.
