Mary B. ReedMary B. Reed, 86, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 in Monticello Health Care. She was born on January 23, 1930 in West Point to the late Ellis J. and RenaRea "Anna" (Kerfoot) Marks. Mary graduated from West Point High School. On February 24, 1948, she married Charles W. Reed. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1977. Mary worked as a nurses aide for St. Elizabeth and owned and operated Thompson-Reed Monument from 1979 to 1994, before retiring. She was a member of West Point Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mary enjoyed crafting and collectibles. Surviving is her son, Garry L. (Janet) Reed of Brookston; her daughters, Beverly S. Clevenger of Gresham, WI and Lucinda K. Hurley of Virginia Beach, VA; and her sister, Shirley (Jim) Marsh of Daytona Beach, FL. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Clevenger; her grandson, Jason Reed; her sister, Betty Gowins; and her half brother, Curtis Marks. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Services will be on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bret Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in West Point Cemetery.
