COLLINSMary Ann (nee Laber) passed away peacefully at age 84 after a brief illness on September 6, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 11, 1933 to Peter and Julia Laber in Newport, Ky. She was the wife of the late John J. Collins, who passed away in 1978. Mary is survived by her children Julie (Dan) Metzger of Lexington, Ky., Timothy Collins of Louisville, Ky., Brigid Schwartz of Burlington, Ky., Jackie (Hank) Hughes of Mooresville, N.C., Colleen (Keith) Hensley of Independence, Ky. and Danny (Diane) of Jackson Township, Ohio and 17 grandchildren, Patrick, Shane and Josie Metzger; Olivia Brown; Katy Schwartz Nance, Joshua, Kameron, Alex and Stephanie Schwartz; Raquel, Henry, Jack and Charles Hughes; Elijah and Cecilia Hensley; Marissa and Sophia Collins; and five great grandchildren; brother Peter Laber of Covington, Ky. and sister Pat Gabriel of Villa Hills, Ky. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Laber and sister Judy "Sis" Vieth. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 9 at 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon, both at Mother of God Catholic Church in Covington, Ky. Reception to follow. Mary will be laid to rest at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Highland Heights, Ky.
