Mary Amanda "Mandy" Quiel (Kruse) Mrs. Mary Amanda "Mandy" Quiel (Kruse) died peacefully at home on December 3rd, 2016 in Bermuda Dunes, California at the age of 83. Mandy is survived by her daughters, Cindy Nass of Denver, CO, Teri Bronowski of Burlington, NC, Paty Butler of Moreno Valley, CA, and Chrissy Eads of San Bernardino, CA; dedicated loving companion, Norman Thu; siblings, Alice Blakemore and Leon Kruse: 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon Quiel, her father Alvin Kruse, her mother Gracie Bell Kruse, and her sister Frances Kruse Mandy was born on April 3rd, 1933 in Keller, Texas to Alvin and Gracie Bell. She married Gordon, with whom she savored 50 years with, in 1955. Together, they founded The Star Dust Roller Rink and co-owned Quiel Bros Sign Co. alongside Ray and Margaret Quiel. Mandy loved working and supporting Gordon's political campaigns; they were a greatly successful team. The couple welcomed four daughters into their home. Her children remember her as a kind and gentle mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Mandy was an accomplished philanthropist. She was a dedicated individual who loved volunteering and who was passionate about helping those in need. She was an active member of the Assistance League as well as Santa Claus Inc. Additionally, she raised money to refurbish local buildings like the Sturges Center of Performing Arts and the San Bernardino Community Hospital. She was also a Girls Scouts of America troop leader and PTA president for many years. Her volunteerism and compassion for others contributed to her being awarded San Bernardino's Woman of the year.
