Mary Alice Aragon, resident of Las Vegas, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. She was born on Oct. 27, 1930 to Cleotilde and Frank Maestas in Las Vegas. She attended Immaculate Conception School where she developed her academic skills and her musical talent in playing the piano. She graduated in 1949 and worked for a time before attending St. Mary's College in Xavier, Kansas, graduating in 1954.She returned to Las Vegas, where she worked as a registered nurse at St Anthony's Hospital, various doctors' offices and Department of Health. Mary Alice is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years and the love of her life, Flávio, on Feb. 10, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Cleotilde and Frank Maestas; mother- and father-in-law, Lenora and Lamberto Aragon; brother, Louie Maestas and wife, Ramona; brother, Joe Maestas and wife, Mary; niece, Loretta Pinchiera; and nephews, Fred Maestas, Michael Maestas, and Lawrence Martinez.She is survived by her children, Teresa and husband, Don Gleason, of Santa Fe, Cathy Aragon of Las Vegas, and Mark Aragon of Rio Rancho; her cherished grandsons, Joel Adam Baca of Santa Fe, and John David Martinez of Las Vegas. She also leaves behind her sister, Isabel and husband, Mel Martinez, of Las Vegas; nieces, Gloria Gallegos of Denver, Diane Arellanes of Las Vegas, Veronica Carney of Las Vegas, Nev., Jackie Archuleta of Las Vegas, N.M.; nephews, Louie Maestas Jr. of Las Vegas, N.M., Alex Maestas of Denver, Frank Maestas of Las Vegas, Nev., Ralph Martinez of Las Vegas, N.M., Phillip Martinez of Las Vegas, N.M., Steven Martinez of Albuquerque, and Rueben Martinez of Belen; godson, Marvin Martinez of Las Vegas, N.M. As a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Parish, she provided organ, piano, and choral music for weekly masses, weddings and funerals over a number of years. Her music brought joy and comfort to others. The utmost appreciation is extended to the doctors, nurses, social workers and caregivers at NMBHI Meadows Home in caring for our mother. Our family is also grateful for the spiritual support and prayers offered by Father George V. Salazar and Eva Romero on the night of her passing. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father George V. Salazar at the Immaculate Conception Church at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow at Mt.
