It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary McDonough, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and all-around amazing woman. Mary was born in Mason City, Iowa on December 23, 1943 to Joseph McDonough and Iva Doran. She was also raised next to her brother Michael McDonough. Mary graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1961.

She married the love of her life, Steven Jenns, and once married, her main goal was to raise their four wonderful children: Heather Stoyles (spouse Noelle Stoyles), Holli Jenns, Heidi Hanson (spouse Chad Hanson), and Hilleri Steinbrecher (spouse Brandon Steinbrecher). Mary was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren; Ally Hanson, Ashlyn Hanson, Avery Hanson, Austin Hanson, Baileigh Carlsen, Berkli Steinbrecher, and Brinley Steinbrecher.

Mary worked at Clear Lake Bakery before retiring in 1970 in order to raise her four children. She had many hobbies, including drinking Coke, shopping for plants, and playing cards with her grandkids (especially Old Maid.) She had a fun-filled life with her husband, children, and grandkids and her favorite memories was going to the cabin with them all.

Despite her valiant fight, Mary passed away on August 31, 2025 after battling breast cancer. She is proceeded in death with her parents and her two daughters Shannon Marie and Ann Marie. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, infectious laughter, and zest for life.
