It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marvin Kellem, who was born on May 8, 1961, in Paterson, New Jersey. Marvin, beloved son of Alex Kellem Sr. and Katie Atkinson-Kellem, passed away on February 18, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.Marvin was a devoted father to his three children, Marvin Hatcher, Almalicia (Katie) Hatcher, and Domshanika (Renee) Hatcher. He also had the joy of being a grandparent to five grandchildren.Marvin was educated in the Passaic County school system. At the age of 12, Marvin moved to North Carolina with his family where he completed his education in Duplin County, NC. During his early years, he mastered many skills such as brick laying, welding, truck driving, cooking, and carpentry. Marvin later moved to Virginia and pursued some of the skills mentioned above. This is where he met his long time companion Alicia Hatcher, and created their family. After residing in Virginia for 20 years, Marvin moved back to his home town Paterson, New Jersey and became a member of St. Luke Baptist Church and was baptized started a career as a chef at Ramapo College, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2014. He was known for his hard work, dedication, and kindness towards his colleagues.Outside of his professional life, Marvin had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He loved cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for his family and friends. He also had a deep passion for music and dancing, always finding solace in the melodies that filled his home. Marvin enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones, whether it was a family gathering or a quiet evening at home. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed watching comedies that would bring a smile to his face.Marvin Kellem will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, and warm spirit will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
