Martha Cunningham FarlanderSanta Rosa, CAMartha Cunningham Farlander passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 26, 2016. Martha was the youngest daughter of Charles J. Cunningham and Verna Mae Cunningham, born on January 27, 1927 and she is the last surviving child of seven. Nicknamed by her siblings as "The Brat", Martha and the family moved to Santa Rosa in the early 40s to begin a legacy of generations to become proud Santa Rosa High Panthers. There, she met her husband, Arthur Farlander. After graduating from SRHS, Martha worked as a switchboard operator at AT&T until she married Art. Martha spent the remainder of her life happily raising her family with an abundance of love and support. She enjoyed spending time camping, volunteering, gardening, and attending every Boy Scout or Blue Bird meeting. Martha was a kind and generous individual who was always putting the needs of others before her own and always had a kind word on her lips. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend who will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed.Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Arthur Farlander. She is survived by her children: Arthur W. Farlander (Sandy) and family of Old Station, CA and Christine L. Snider (Donald) of Santa Rosa; grandchildren: Michella C. Snider of Santa Rosa, Tristan F.
