Marjorie E. Peterson1927 - 2016Marjorie E. Peterson was born on February 20, 1927 in Port Orchard, WA, to William and Augusta (Johnson) McMurrick, the youngest of 4 children. She passed away on October 25, 2016 in Damascus, OR. Her family moved to Bismarck N.D. in 1932, where she graduated from Bismarck high school in 1945. Marjorie moved to Denver, Colorado in the fall of 1945, to attend bible school, where she met the love of her life, Raymond Peterson, and they were married on July 3rd, 1946. They moved to Oregon later that year, living first in Albany, and later in Eugene. Marjorie was an avid gardener, gifted cook, and never lost her love for learning. She was always a gracious hostess, opening her home and her heart to anyone in need. Her legacy is one of hard work and perseverance, generosity, faithfulness, and unending love for her family, and for her Savior, Jesus Christ. While living in Eugene, they were members of Berean Baptist Church. While living in Albany (10 years), they attended Grace Bible Fellowship, and after moving in 2006, she attended Damascus Community Church. Marjorie was predeceased by Ray in 2009, and is survived by her older brothers Robert McMurrick of Oakridge, OR. and George McMurrick of Florence, AZ. and her older sister Ethel of Florence, AZ. Her children; daughter Linda (John) Rossi of Portland, daughter Nancy of Salem, and son Larry (Kelly) of Damascus, OR, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Burial was at Waverly cemetery in Albany, OR and a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday November 12th, 2016, at Damascus Community Church.
