Marilyn WilliamsMARION: Marilyn Williams, age 79 of Marion, passed away on Friday October 28, 2016 at Heartland of Marion.Marilyn was born on May 8, 1937 the daughter of Francis J. and Coletta F. (McGrath) Voll and sister of Francis and Joseph. Marilyn attended St. Mary School and graduated in 1955. After graduation, she attended Bowling Green State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree of Education in 1960.Marilyn was a devoted educator to the community of Marion, teaching for most of her 40 years in the Marion City Schools. She always felt that teaching was an honor and a privilege. Upon retirement, she served as a substitute teacher for Marion City Schools and St. Mary School for the next 10 years.She was united in marriage to Jack Williams in 1973 and helped him raise his three children: Ted, Jack and Jill. Jack preceded Marilyn in death in 1987.Marilyn was an active member of the Junior Service Guild, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Craft Club, Marion City and County Retired Teachers Association, Marion Senior Center, Red Hat Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and also volunteered her time at St. Vincent DePaul.Her hobbies included crafts and making cards. Above all, Marilyn felt blessed to have a wonderful family and many close friends.She is survived by her brother Francis (Marty) Voll, nephews: Joseph (Julie) Voll, Matthew (Aimee) Voll and Michael (Angie) Voll; 5 great nephews and 6 great nieces.Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jack Williams and her brother Joseph Voll.Visitation will be held on Sunday November 6, 2016 at SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, GUNDER HALL CHAPEL, 347 West Center St., Marion from 2PM to 6PM with a Wake Service at 5:45PM; Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 251 N. Main St. at 10:00AM with Fr.
