Marilyn Jean Hadley of East Tawas, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at her home, age 82. Marilyn was born on Oct. 4, 1929 in Big Rapids to Alexander A. and Mary E. Benkert. She worked for Norman's in East Tawas for 25 years as a manager, retiring in 1992. She will always be remembered for all the love she gave to her family and the large wonderful meals she would prepare. Marilyn is survived by her four children, Debbie (Virgil) Ranger of National City, Duane (Lisa Salad) Hadley of AuGres, Karen (Dennis) Fairbanks of Harrison and Jeff (Michelle) Hadley of Cheboygan; six grandchildren, Nathan (Beth) Fairbanks of Arizona, Christina Fairbanks of Ithaca, Sarah (Eric) Spurgeon of Grand Rapids, Ashley (Brian) Malley of Clare, Alex Hadley of Ohio and Megan Hadley of Cheboygan; two brothers, Kenneth (Diane) Beckert of LeRoy and Don (LaVern) Snavely of Paris; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hadley in 1997. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 23 at noon at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
