It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Manuel, who was born on September 13, 1943, and passed away on November 3, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia, United States. Marilyn was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Christine Merchant.

Marilyn has joined her son Keith Manuel-Jackson, is survived by her son Kyle Manuel-Jackson and daughter in law as well as her seven cherished grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always putting her family first.

She attended Compton High School and graduated in 1960. Marilyn continued her studies at Compton College, where she graduated in 1962. She went on to work at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, where she made many lasting friendships.

In addition to her career, Marilyn was a passionate advocate for gun violence prevention and was actively involved in the MOMS Demand Action organization. She dedicated much of her time to helping others and making a positive impact in her community.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Marilyn had a love for sewing. She spent countless hours creating beautiful pieces and sharing her talent with those around her.

Marilyn will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

May she rest in peace.
