Maria Rivera Contreras, 86 Maria "Mary" Rivera Contreras, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Mary was born on March 23, 1931 in El Paso, Texas to the late Manuel P. Rivera and Aurelia Lopez Rivera. She was a dedicated and hard worker. Mary worked for El Paso's Housing Authority for many years before retiring. She was also a lifetime member of San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Mary was a kind and loving individual who devoted her life to her family. She was an avid animal lover and sought enjoyment from tending to her pristine yard. Mary is survived by her loving children Carmen, Richard and Rueben; her siblings Fred, Jesse, and Irma Rivera; her grandchildren Rudy, Rebecca, Nic, Jacob, Riannen, and Ariana; her five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mary will be Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9: p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East.
