Margaretha grew up in Chihuahua Mexico among the old colony. She was married in September 1943 to Wilhelm Reddekopp. They had 2 boys. In March 1945 Wilhelm died in March 1945. Both boys died shortly after. She was forced to move back home with her parents. In August 1949 she married Jacob Peters, a handsome young widower with 4 Children. Jacob and Margaretha had 8 children together to make it an even dozen. Margaretha and Jacob were married for 58 blessed years.
Margaretha was a devoted wife and mother. She was always very concerned about her children’s well being. Both physical and spiritual. But the spiritual was particularly important. In 1965 the left their home among the old colony people and moved to Jagueyues and joined the Kleingeminde. In 1992 they moved to Campo 101 to be closer to the German Church of God where they had started to attend. In 2000 they moved to Manitoba Canada to be closer to most of the children.
Margaretha always wanted her children close by. She could not stand to be apart from her children. She loved to sing. She would always want her children to sing at family gatherings. Later on in life, she started to knit. She was very devoted to her daily bible reading.
Margaretha is survived by her younger sister Mary, her 12 children 7 girls and 5 boys, 41 grandchildren’ 55 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, two boys, two husbands, all her brothers and all but one sister, two sons-in-law. Ed Lowen and Lawrence Reimer.
