It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mardena Washam on June 27, 2024, in York, Pennsylvania. Born on October 29, 1946 in Mullins, SC, Mardena was the beloved daughter of Chauncey Davis and Teretha Owens-Davis.

Mardena leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her four children, Thomas Washam, David Washam, Charles Barrett (spouse Melvalissa Barrett), and Derrick Barrett. She was also a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren.

Mardena was a proud graduate of Chester High School class of 1964 and continued her education at Cheney University of Pa. Throughout her career, Mardena worked at USPS and the Office of Aging, making a positive impact in the community. She dedicated her time to helping organize activities at the Senior Center, truly exemplifying her caring and giving nature.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Mardena had a passion for reading and volunteering. She found joy in these hobbies and touched the lives of those around her with her kindness and generosity.

Mardena will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace and may her memory continue to inspire and comfort those who love her.
