This obituary is administered by:
Madge Earl Anderson died peacefully in her sleep on May 4, 2009, in Brigham City at the age of 89. She was born on Aug. 14, 1919, in Logan to Charles Leo and Cynthia Durfey Earl. She graduated from Bear River High School, attended LDS Business College and Utah State University. She married Verl H. Anderson in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 6, 1941. They were blessed with four children. After 59 years of marriage Verl preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2000. Madge was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life. She was Relief Society president of the Fielding Ward, on the Garland Stake Relief Society Board, in the YWMIA program, and a Primary teacher in the Hampton Ford Ward. She was a wonderful friend, teacher and example to those around her. She enjoyed serving as a worker in the Logan LDS Temple. She was an avid bowling participant and enjoyed playing women's softball. She traveled all over the United States with Verl and their champion Columbia sheep. She always made homemade rolls and hand-dipped chocolates for others. We will all truly miss her. She is survived by her children: Sharon (Doug) Rytting, Janet (Jerry) Leming, Earl Anderson and Garon (Heidy) Anderson; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sherman (Charlene) Earl. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Charles; her sisters Connie Sorensen and Ora Mae Rhead; and a great-grandson, Zachariah Leming. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, May 9, in the Fielding Stake Center, 4375 W. 15600 North. A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at the Fielding Stake Center and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday prior to the services. Interment will be in the Fielding City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
