SwensenDecember 14, 1939 - August 9, 2013Bench - Lyle Jackman Swensen, 73, of Bench, Idaho passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013 at her home.She was born on December 14, 1939 in Payson, Utah the daughter of William Wells and Georgia Ruble Wells Jackman.Lyle also lived in Scottsdale, Arizona where she graduated from Scottsdale High School. She married Joseph Frank Swensen on March 30, 1959 in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life and had served in many various callings including Relief Society President, lifelong choir member, young womens advisor and many others.Lyle was always a hard worker, along with the job of raising 8 children she also worked for a time at the Blue Bell Drive Inn and Bailey's Market.Some of her greatest delights were playing church softball, singing in a women's group called the "Reflections" and choreographing floor shows with her husband for several Jr. Proms and church dances. Some of the things she loved most were reading, quilting with the "Quilting Ladies", cooking, raising her family and being a Grandma. What she loved more than anything was being married to the love of her life for the past 54 years.She is survived by her husband Joseph Frank Swensen, and four boys and four girls, Kelly and Nikki Swensen of Soda Springs, ID, Kyle and Sandy Swensen of Humble, TX, Kirk and Margie Swensen of Mattoon, Illinois, and Kerry and Debbie Swensen of Bancroft, ID, Kimberly and Ray Shurtz of Grace, ID, Keedrin and Steve Criddle of Downey, ID, Krissi and Jeff Popp of Salt Lake City, UT, and Karol Swensen of Matton, Illinois. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and two sisters Kay Zuehlke and Jean Marie Scott both of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, a granddaughter, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.Services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Noon at the Thatcher/Williams Ward Chapel in Niter. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Church and also on Wednesday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.simsfh.com.
