Lydia M. Gascoigne1924 - 2015Lydia M. Gascoigne, 91, of Kenosha passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Hospitality Nursing and Rehab Center. Lydia was born on Feb. 3, 1924, in Schleswig, Germany to Waldemar and Kate Knabe. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1928 and settled in Milwaukee, Wis. She was educated in the schools of Milwaukee and graduated from Girls Tech High School. She was a secretary for many years with the Federal Government starting out in Milwaukee and retiring from the V. A. in North Chicago, Ill. She also worked for a number of years at her husband's lathe and plastering business. Lydia married Donald E. Gascoigne Sr. in Milwaukee on Dec. 8, 1945. She was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Church and the Marine Corp League. She was also very active in the PTA while her children were in school. She was an excellent seamstress and would make matching outfits for her and her daughter. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by, her parents; and her husband Donald.Lydia is survived by, her son, Donald Gascoigne Jr. her daughter, Sandra (Patrick) Johnson both of Kenosha; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Joseph Nosalik) Johnson and Matthew (Stevie) Johnson; and a great granddaughter Abigail NosalikIn accordance with Lydia's wishes private funeral services will be held.Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home6019 7th Avenue262-654-2136www.hansen-lendmanfuneralhome.com
