Lorraine Waller Jackson was called home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2018, at her home. She was born on February 14, 1938, to the late Irene Coles Gilliens and John Evans Waller.
Lorraine joined the Union Baptist Church in Beaverdam, Virginia at an early age and later joined the Rising Sun Baptist Church. She worked many years at the Louisa Factory, Louisa Cleaners and then retired from the Louisa Tastee Freeze.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson, three children; Chester Jackson, Floyd Jackson and Priscilla Gross; two sisters, Bessie Mines and Josephine Anderson; two brothers, Carter Waller and Ellwood Waller; and her grandson, Christopher Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Joyce Bowles; her sons, Andrew Jackson, Jr, Ronald Jackson (Geraldine) and Wendell Jackson. One sister, Nadine Braxton, one uncle, David Waller (Mary), 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves 3 godchildren, Earn Henson, Steve Greene, and Jennette Brow; 3 daughters in law, Florene Jackson, Felicia Jackson and Catherine Jackson; 1 son in law, Edward Gross and 1 “special daughter,” June Robinson.
Lorraine also leaves 2 devoted grandsons, Ryan Jackson (caregiver) and Jeremy Jackson; 5 devoted granddaughters, Stephanie Saunders (caregiver), Keisha Jackson, Tarrance Jackson LaDonna Harris and Tierra Rivers; one devoted nephew, Emmett Jackson; five devoted nieces, Darlene Anderson, Peggy Taylor, Ammie Mines and Virginia Jackson; 4 devoted friends, Julia Jackson, Frances Hunter, Clara Fortune and Marilyn Waller.
3 special friends, Mary Lou Shelton, Brenda Carter, and Kathy Carmean, plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
