Loretta MickeyAsheville - Loretta Ann (Dagostino) Mickey, 78 of Asheville, North Carolina passed away October 7, 2017, in the home she loved in the Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina.She was born on August 21, 1939, in Washington, DC the daughter of the late John Joseph Dagostino and Marie Elizabeth Hensley Lester.Loretta worked in her father's television repair shop and the Colonial China Company Inc. before becoming a wife and mother. Loretta enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School for her church, Carrollan Woods Baptist Church where she lived in New Carrollton, Maryland for 35+ years. Loretta trained and was licensed as a Foster Parent for Prince George's County Social Services. Loretta and her husband, Mickey served as Foster Parents for more than 20 years caring for At-Risk or medically challenged infants, toddlers and children. Loretta enjoyed and loved her family and friends. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, and sewing. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Frank Doebler Mickey III and her daughter, Victoria Kathleen (Mickey) Brown. She is survived by her siblings, Thelma, Bobby, Johnny, Regina, Betty, Patricia, Darlene and Debbie; her sons' Frank (Judy), Mark (Nona), and Matthew (Denise); daughters' Sabrina (Ron), Jennifer (Bob), Lynnette (Tommy), and Brieann; grandchildren Amanda, Alex, Jason, Allison, Sarah, James, Rose, and Lily.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Friday at the funeral home.
