Loren Glen DuncanThousand Oaks, CALoren Duncan, 53, of Thousand Oaks, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 after a brave fight against cancer. Loren was born on January 22, 1964, in Sierra Madre, California. He graduated from Newbury Park High School in 1983.Loren spent many summers camping in New England with his family and enjoyed riding motorcycles with brother, Gene, at his grandparents' home in Big River, California.He had a passion for cars, dirt bikes and four wheeling in the desserts of California, at Pismo Beach and Gorman with his brothers Gene, Jay, and his stepson Jaco. Loren was an avid NASCAR and Formula 1 racing fan, being a big Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. He enjoyed attending car and hot rod shows with his dad, Mitch; uncle, Bob; and brother, Gene. He became passionate about remote control cars and boats, always spending his time on a Saturday or Sunday, racing RC cars or boats with his best friends. He loved the outdoors, camping and classic rock music. Being part of a family who were involved in the automotive field, Loren became a mechanical expert, always repairing his own vehicles or fitting his truck with the largest tires he could manage to fit.Loren started his landscape maintenance business, Loren's Landscape Maintenance, in 1996. His business grew over the years and many of his customers became best friends. Loren was dedicated to his work, tending to his gardens, even when his legs became weak because of the cancer.Loren loved family and is survived by his wife, Charmaine Duncan of Thousand Oaks; stepdaughters, Margaux Hutchinson of Encino, and Natasha Lotter of South Africa; stepson, Jaco Hutchinson of Thousand Oaks; stepmother, Diane Duncan of Tomhegan Township, ME; brothers, Jay Lewis of Pittsburgh, PA., and Marc Duncan (Katie) of Tacoma, WA; stepfather, Ron Lewis of Anaheim; uncle, Robert Duncan (Marie) of Auburn; aunts, Nancy Jensen of Washington, D.C. and Dottie Marshall of Houston, TX; nephew, Timothy Duncan (Caitlin) of Moorpark; sister-in-law, Kathy Duncan of Moorpark; cousins, Melissa and Branden Jensen of Los Angeles, and Stacey Jensen of Washington, D.C.; mother-in-law, Hilda Vilela of South Africa; step-grandchildren, Timothy and Genevieve Lotter of South Africa; and his adorable Dachshund, Mia.Loren is predeceased by his father Mitchell Duncan of Tomhegan Township, ME; mother, Donna Marie Lewis of Newbury Park; brother, Gene Duncan of Moorpark; grandparents, Charlotte and Robert Duncan of Colfax; and Marie and Don Cronbaugh of Thousand Oaks.A celebration of Loren's life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels, 101 E. Wilbur Road, Thousand Oaks.
