It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Thornton, who peacefully left this world on August 12, 2024, in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Lisa was born on March 8, 1941, to her loving parents Eugene Thornton and Ruby Strays. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Richard Thornton (spouse Deta Green) and Tosha Williams. Lisa adored her three grandchildren; Bina Green, Jasmine Green, and Chris Williams who brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Throughout her life, Lisa dedicated herself to helping others as a social worker, eventually retiring in 2006 after making a significant impact on countless lives. In her free time, she enjoyed playing the piano, and sharing her love of music with those around her.

Lisa will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
