LIDA NARDUCCI Lida Narducci of Toronto, 81 years old, died peacefully in her sleep on January 8, 2017 after a long illness. Lida was born on February 21, 1935 in Pietracamela, Italy, to Loreto and Angelamaria Narducci. From an early age, Lida was very close to and looked up to her older sister Gilda and was a part of Gilda's family for most of her life. She helped to bring up her two nephews Amerigo and Riccardo Rapacchietta and her niece Florena Angelucci and became a devoted and doting aunt to her six great-nieces Elizabeth, Andria, Rebecca, Carla, Nicole and Natalie. During her illness, Lida found great joy in her new great-great-niece Eden and her great-great-nephew Matteo. She immigrated to Canada with Gilda's family when she was 23 years old and soon after found employment with Ford of Canada on her own initiative; this led to a long, satisfying career as an Assembler and Machine Operator. After her retirement, Lida was devoted to many years of volunteering at Villa Colombo. Visitation will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill, Ontario, on January 12, 2017 between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on January 13, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel of Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, with a light reception to follow.
