Leslie Hardwick SYRACUSE — Leslie Hardwick, age 68, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016. at the Avalon Village in Ligonier, Indiana. She was born on April 28, 1947, to George and Ruth Ellen (Greenstreet) Stimmel in Richmond, Indiana. On March 25, 1991, she married Clayton Hardwick in Ligonier, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1999. Mrs. Hardwick was a longtime area resident after teaching in Richmond, Indiana, until 1985. She also worked for Tenneco Automotive as a supervisor and had since retired after many years of service. She enjoyed outdoor activities, especially those at the lake. She is survived by one child, Todd (Lori) Miller of Wawaka, Indiana; one grandchild, Tristan Miller; a brother, Sam Stimmel of North Webster, Indiana; two nieces, Tracy Stimmel of Los Angeles, California, and Michelle Stimmel of Columbia City, Indiana; and two nephews, Patrick and Samuel Adams of Pierceton, Indiana. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Clayton. There will be a funeral service held in Mrs. Hardwick's honor on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at noon at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, Indiana, with Pastor Jill Wright officiating. Friends and family may collect for a visitation prior to the service on Monday from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow at Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Indiana. There will be a time of visitation from on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
