LIGONIER — Leon R. Stoltzfus, age 81, of Ligonier, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016. He was born on Aug. 23, 1934, the son of Elmer and Emma Stoltzfus in Leola, Pennsylvania. On June 26, 1965, he married Norma May Royce in Bristol, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Norma (Royce) Stoltzfus of Ligonier, Indiana; two children, Diana Stoltzfus of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Christine (Andrew) Ables of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two grandsons, Ethan and Mason Ables; his siblings, Katie Stoltzfus, Jesse (Rebecca) Stoltzfus, Ruth Fisher, and Elam (Anna Mary) Stoltzfus, all residing in the state of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. Leon is preceded in death by his parents,Elmer and Emma Stoltzfus; and brothers, Paul, Alvin and Dan Stoltzfus. He was a true gentleman, who loved nothing more than being a husband to his wife, Norma, and a father and grandfather to his beloved daughters, Diana and Christine, and two grandsons, Ethan and Mason. Leon was an avid reader, gardener, and enjoyed golfing and all types of woodworking. For many years he worked for Tri-State Harvestore as well as being self-employed in the agriculture industry. He was a member of both the Elks and Moose lodges. Family and friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
