Leo C. TorrisLeo C. Torris, 93, a resident of Kenosha, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Hospitality Nursing Home.Leo was born on Sept. 18, 1923, to Cirillo and Virginia (Atencio) Torres in Center, Colo. He was one of 11 children, seven boys and four girls.Leo was in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was stationed in Europe and served two tours before being Honorably Discharged in 1948. In 1953, he moved to Kenosha and on Jan. 28, 1956, he was united in marriage with Joan Novak at St. Mark's Catholic Church.Leo worked as an electrician at several companies including AMC/Chrysler, ultimately retiring in 1985 from Johnson Outboard. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors with the family. He also liked reading and working in the garden.Surviving Leo is his beloved wife of 60 years Joan Torris of Kenosha; son Andrew (Dawn) Torris; and daughter Suzanne Torris. He is further survived by four grandchildren, Tiffany Torris, Brent Torris, Geoffrey Ledon and Rachel Ledon; one sister, Eva Tutlewski; and many nieces and nephews.Leo was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael in 2014; sisters Charlotte, Alice, Lucille; and brothers, Al, Dick, Raymond, Andrew, Frank, and Chris.A Memorial Service for Leo will be held on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church (7117-14th ave). Visitation with the family will be held on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
