Leo S.G. McGranahanMay 30, 1940 - November 5, 2016Gates - Leo Stewart Granvel McGranahan was born on May 30, 1940 in Salem, OR. He was one of seven Children and is survived by one brother, Herschell. He served in the Marine Corp from September 12, 1958 - September 11, 1964. He received a "Good Conduct" medal and an "Expert Shooter" badge for a .30 caliber rifle, as well. He was happily married to Connie Swartz for over 40 years and she preceded him in passing in 2012. He was well loved and will be missed by all that knew him. He was quick to laugh and has always been there for anyone that needed help or support. With only a 10th grade education, he became a successful business owner of LeConn Floor Covering and Supply from which he retired a few years ago. He loved living in Gates, Oregon among all the natural beauty and serenity. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and visiting with his family. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Our beloved Leo is survived by his daughter, Staci Johnson, and Son, Kevin McGranahan. Five grandchildren: Jill, Justin, Jimmie, Jessica and Jakob. He had 3 great-grandchildren, as well - Zachary, Andrew and Indie Fawn. He will always be in our hearts.Assisting is Virgil T.
