Leathel “LEE” Lashley

Leathel Lashley, daughter of the late James ‘Bubba’ Lashley and Gladys ‘OT’ Scott Lashley, began her journey of life on Wednesday, February 14th, 1951 in the home of Gaston, North Carolina. On Tuesday, June 7th, 2023 at her residence she peacefully left this earthly vessel to go be with the Lord at the graceful age of 72.

Lee, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was educated in the Northampton County Public School Systems. In her early adult years she worked in a local poultry farming business. She went on to find her career as an hospitality professional, at Motel 6 of Roanoke Rapids, NC, from where she retired in 2018 after 24 years. 

Lee was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. In addition to her parents Lee was preceded in death by: her siblings, James Lee Lashley, Douglas Wayne Lashley, and Juanita Lashley. And one daughter Brenda Faye Lashley.

Memories of her love will remain with her devoted children: Melvin Lashley of the home. Rose Garner (Edward), John Lashley, & Sylvia Harvey of Gaston, North Carolina. Six grandchildren: Cameron G. Foster III of Petersburg, VA. JeCori Garner, Lavar Garner, JaCody Garner, Kyvon Harris, and Lisa Banks Garris of Gaston, NC. Three nephews, one of which she raised as her own James Lashley of Gaston, NC, and two nieces. Her lifetime partner and companion of the home J.L. Wilkins High. Three amazing women that held her near to their heart Claudette Atkins, Vanessa Garner and Polly Owens Banks all of Gaston, NC.
