LeAnna Tanner, age 67, died in her home in Port Angeles on October 28, 2016, from primary central nervous system lymphoma. Her family was at her side to help her on her final journey. She was born on October 14, 1949, in Ontario, Oregon. She was the third of five children to Royce Martin Roberts and Phyllis Jane (Pugh) Krefting. Her family moved from Oregon to Sequim in 1958. Later, they moved to Port Angeles, where LeAnna attended Roosevelt Junior High and graduated in 1968 from Port Angeles High. She joined the U.S. Army and worked in the field of physical therapy, rehabilitating wounded Vietnam veterans. After her military service, she entered the world of bookkeeping and accounting for the rest of her working career, traveling from the West to the East coasts several times before returning to Port Angeles in 1988 with her two sons. After her return, she graduated from Peninsula Junior College. She was a member of the Clallam County Heritage Advisory Board and absolutely loved the Olympic Peninsula. She retired in October 2015 from Mount Angeles Memorial Park after 10 years as bookkeeper and office manager. Her favorite activity was hiking. Her most memorable hobby was writing, for which she had a natural talent. LeAnna's family will always remember her as the catalyst for fun family gatherings and keeper of family treasures and traditions. She was preceded in death by Clarence "Mickey" Tanner, her parents, her brother Tom Roberts and her brother-in-law, David Schrader. She is survived by her two sons, Marcus (Heather) and McKee Tanner of Port Angeles; four grandchildren, Fiona, James, Griffin and Aubrey of Port Angeles; three siblings, Gail Schrader of Tallahassee, Florida, Collin (Leona) Roberts of Salem, Oregon, and Sue (Rick) Jacobsen of Broomfield, Colorado; and her stepmother, Patricia Roberts of Hood River, Oregon. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dennis Davitt and Dee Magner for their support during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held at the Pugh Cemetery in Shedd, Oregon, on a date to be announced, where her ashes will be laid to rest with her mother and other family members. Collin Roberts of City View Funeral Home, Salem, Oregon, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
