  • A life well lived

    Larry Walker of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 6, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was 67 years old.

    He was born Jan. 15, 1957, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Samuel L. and Corrine Copeland Walker.

    He graduated from Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Community College. He was employed as a correction officer for 23 years in Brocton, N.Y.

    He was member of the Rod & Gun Club and the Masonic Lodge.

    He is survived by his son, Larry Walker Jr. of Jamestown; a daughter, Katrina M. Walker of Spartanburg, S.C., and stepchildren:, Tasha Cruz of Jamestown; Jamie Payne of Port Allegany PA, Jennifer Welder of Port Allegany, Pa., Ian T. and Travis Walker of Jamestown N.Y.; grandchildren: Marissa Arreola of Las Vegas, NV, Carlie B. Singer of Orrtanna, Pa., Sharaia M. Walker of Spartanburg, S.C.., Alexes B. Walker of Spartanburg, S.C.., Madison L. Walker-Blake of Jamestown, N.Y.; LeaRae A. Walker of Kernervsvillie, N.C.; and Kase and Keston Leeper of Jamestown, N.Y. His siblings: Sallie (Ronald Donaldson) of Jamestown, N.Y., the Rev. Leroy (Debbie) Walker of Jamestown, N.Y., Jerry (Theresa) Walker of Oneonta, N.Y; Sue (Keith) Blake of Jamestown, N.Y. and Brenda (Patrick) Bunce of Jamestown, N.Y.; great-grandchildren: Giana S. Martin of Spartanburg, S.C., Junie (Brandon) Martin of Spartanburg, S.C.., Nasir A. Webster of Spartanburg, S.C.., Kamala S. Miller of Spartanburg, S.C. and Nyla K. Benton of Spartanburg, S.C.; his companion, Nancy Root of Dunkirk, N.Y.; and his ex-wife and best friend, Maureen Walker of Jamestown, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he is predeeded in death by his companion of 18 years, Louann Barr-Walker

    The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14 at Lind Funeral Home. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 13 at the funeral home.
