Lalion Cecil Gibby Jr., 74, loving husband and father, passed away on September 20, 2019 at the Cottingham House surrounded by his family. He was born on August 9, 1945 in Cannon, Georgia to the late Lalion Cecil Gibby and Imogene Davis Hill.

Cecil is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary H. Gibby, sons JR of Seneca, Bobby (Kim) of San Tan Valley, AZ and John of the home; daughter Jennifer Gibby (Chris) of Walhalla; and 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by three half brothers, Jim Hill of Las Vegas, NV, Robert and Greg Hill both of Eden, NC; half sister Sue Carnswell of Morganton, NC; He was preceded in death by his son Cecil Anthony Gibby and brother Wade Gibby.

Cecil was a brick mason by trade and was retired from Bobby Arnold Construction. Before that he worked for Plez-U Food Stores for 20 years. He enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his family and watching his Clemson Tigers. He even called himself their #1 fan. He was a member of Foothills Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on September 28 at Hopewell Baptist Church, 161 Hopewell Church Dr, Seneca, SC 29678. The family will be at 287 W Halfway Branch Rd, Walhalla, SC, 29791.
