Kit Smith, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 10, 2024, in Richmond, Virginia, at the age of 76. She was born on June 29, 1948, to Alan Murphy and Evelyn Mueller-Murphy.

Kit married her loving husband, Robert, in 1970, and together they raised three wonderful children: Michael (and spouse Brita), Patrick, and Timothy. She was also a proud grandmother to one Grandaughter Kaylee.

Kit attended Washington High School in Portland, Oregon, and graduated in 1966. She went on to work at Gannett and dedicated her time to helping those in need through the Christmas in April organization.

Kit will always be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
