Kevin Gene Blanks, 61, of Olathe KS, entered heavens gates with a big grin on his face on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Kevin was surrounded by family as he talked our ears off till the very end. He fought cancer for 9 years and kicked its ass in full. Kevin never let it slow him down. In fact, it sped him up and brought a whole new life into his hands. If you had the privilege of knowing Kevin, you know he’d want you to rejoice in reflecting on his life. He’d also want you to hold onto a memory of him making you belly laugh. Better yet, remember Kevin for making himself laugh! He would also encourage you to be kinder more often, love harder, and put others before yourself.

Kevin was preceded in passing by his wife, Angie, his parents, John& jodi , his brother, George and his sister, Dotty. It brings us peace and joy knowing he was met on the other side with such love and embrace! Kevin will be greatly missed by his loving girlfriend, Shari, his dog, Chico, his son, Josh, his sister, Kathy, his brother & sister-in-law, Ernie & Tammy, his sister & brother-in-law, Pat & Danny, his sister, Bev and his nieces/nephews, Kyle, Emily, Tylar, Shawn, Chevon, Aimee, Michael, John, James, Brian, Angela, Deanna, Mandy, Kathleen, Michael and John. Kevin was loved by many from near and far! Especially by his karaoke fans and The Buggy Club. As he used to say, “Don’t worry folks, this is free entertainment!”

We invite everyone who Kevin positively impacted, to his Celebration of Life! Kevin’s request was a party. Let’s be sure to do it big! Wear your favorite Nascar shirt, warm up a karaoke song, and prepare to share your best stories about Kevin. Join us on Saturday, July 13th, from 4-8 PM, at the Bonner Springs Community Center. In lieu of flowers, please bring non-perishable items to donate to Vaughn-Trent Community Services, Bonner Springs’ local food bank. Shari & Emily serve on their Board of Directors and will turn in the items and funds collected.
