Mr. Kermit Roosevelt Wolfe of Jefferson died on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at his home. He was 83.
Mr. Wolfe was born on Oct. 22, 1930, in Ashe County to Glen M. and Daisy Callaham Wolfe.
Mr. Wolfe was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and five brothers.
Mr. Wolfe served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a carpenter for Shatley Construction. He enjoyed hunting. He was a member and deacon at Cox's Grove Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by a son, Alexander Wolfe of Jefferson; a daughter, Veronica Wolfe of High Point; brother, Ray Wolfe of Michigan; granddaughter, Kristina Little; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in the Cox's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites.
The family received friends prior to the funeral service at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
