We are sad to announce that on May 23, 2023, at age 35, Keith Levell Johnson passed away.
Keith Johnson, lovingly known as Velly to his family and friends was born on September 5, 1988, in Shaw, Mississippi to Anthony and Gloria Johnson. Keith lived a happy and purposeful life until he departed on May 23, 2023, and will be dearly missed by EVERYONE who knew him. He was the family comedian and every time he stepped into the room everyone's day would brighten up. He may have been the baby out of seven children but his presence was huge and impactful in an amazing way. The recent passing of his father (His Superman) just became too much for him to bear but they are now both at peace and together. He will always be loved by his family, his friends, and his co-workers.
You will forever be my baby boy, I love you so much and I am so proud of your many accomplishments in life. So rest in peace Velly and tell my husband/your dad...I love/miss him every day. No mother should have to bury her children so a piece of my heart is forever gone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Johnson.
He is survived and cherished by his loving mother, Gloria Johnson; his brothers and sisters, Anthony (Shavon) Johnson Jr.; Karly (Jack) Riley; LaToya (Bernard) Bonner; Alana Johnson, Lavon (Marcus) Cole; and Lashawn (Duke) Riley; his nephews and nieces, Brooke (Mohammed) Salim; Kimberly Johnson; William (Kyra) Johnson; and Austin (Kelly) Johnson; his uncles and aunties, Leslie Johnson; Josie (Sean) Green; Ryan (Kathy) Reed; and James (Sandra) Reed. He will also be greatly missed by his friends and his co-workers at the Harlow Casino Resort & Spa.
To honor his wishes, his body will be cremated at Ar La Ms Cremation Society in Greenville, Mississippi. We will have a memorial on Saturday, June 10, 2023, to honor his life at the home of his aunt Leslie Johnson at 415 N Deer Creek Dr. W Leland, MS 38756. It will be on that date to allow family and friends time to properly prepare and travel to Mississippi.
