Katie Frances Armstrong Cowan was born on February 9, 1938 in Montreal ,Quebec , . She was the daughter of the late Annie “Nancy” Moultrie. Katie attended grammar school and high school in Montreal. Katie relocated to
Paterson, New Jersey in 1962 where she was united in marriage to Tommie Cowan. Katie had a true love for people. She enjoyed discussing the bible and her love of God. She was willing to help anyone in any way that she could.

Katie was employed by Universal Manufacturing Company Paterson, NJ, where she worked for several years. She previously had been employed by Millers Drug Store Paterson. She was also employed with Visiting Homemaker where she was a certified home health aide. Her last employment was at Wanaque Convalescent Home in Haskell, NJ where she worked as a certified nursing assistant. Katie was a member of the Prophetic Church of God.

She departed this life on Thursday, October 24, 2019.

Katie leaves to cherish wonderful memories two daughters, Catherine Armstrong Pierre and Velma R. (Michael) . 15 grandchildren Aneeka Cowan ,Quashon Smith, Shaborn Armstrong , Starquana Armstrong , Demone “Real” Armstrong, Davon “Chef” Armstrong, Vincetra DeVine-Jones, Vincent “VeeI” DeVine III, Uasia Cowan, Bishma
Cowan, Bishmi Cowan and Nafeesah Cowan, & step grandchildren Jensen , Jeffrey & Ashley Pierre, honorary grandson, Scott Cumberbatch. 22 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by 2 god children, Tawanda Pierson and Clinton Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and a loving church family.
