Kathryn Mary Schwab of East Tawas, formerly of Royal Oak, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 at Tawas Village, age 96 years.Kathryn was born on Jan. 17, 1919 in Pontiac to Clyde and Helen Mercer.She married her husband, Frederick W. Schwab, in 1938, and soon they began their family. She stayed at home during her working years to raise their children and take care of home responsibilities. Kathryn will always be remembered for her passion of dancing, feeding and watching birds, and playing cards, most notably Bridge. She is survived by her five children, Frederick J. (Dottie) Schwab of Bonita Springs, Fla., James A. (Mary) Schwab of Broadview Heights, Ohio, Robert J. Schwab of Holly, Kathleen M. (Scott) Rynearson of Colleyville, Texas and John T. (Jeannette) Schwab of Sparta, N.J.; nine grandchildren, Fred, David, Susie, Carrie, Dan, Vicki, Shawn, Mashaya and Chelsea; and 16 great grandchildren, Jacob, Jona, Jadin, Nathan, Andy, Haley, Tyler, Patrick, Audrey, Sam, Jack, Peter, Annie, Dakota, Lacy and Cameron. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Schwab on Dec. 24, 1985; and her siblings. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
