Eckstein, Kathryn A. PADUCAH, KY - Kathryn "Kay" A. Eckstein, age 90, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Cassville, WI, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, at her home in Paducah. She was born on March 10, 1927, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Marie and Joseph Hendrick. Kay attended St. Scholastica Academy and furthered her education at Marquette University, where she earned a degree in English. It was there that she met Ray Eckstein and they were united in marriage on June 26,1948. In 1949 the couple moved to Cassville and raised their family. Kay enjoyed the river and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards, socializing and wintering in Boca Raton. Charitable giving has become a rewarding endeavor for Kay and Ray. They created the Ray and Kay Eckstein Charitable Trust to partner with charities serving human needs and families, providing faith based initiatives, supporting educational endeavors, and sustaining vibrant communities. Kay is survived by her loving husband, Ray Eckstein, Paducah, KY; their children: Joanne Eckstein DelDotto, Chattanooga, TN; Randy Eckstein, New Orleans, LA; Sue Homra, Paducah, KY; Cindy (Erickson) Zaninovich, Paducah, KY; Teresa Eckstein, Paducah, KY; Joe Eckstein, Jacksonville, FL; John Eckstein, Paducah, KY; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and four in God's pocket. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kay Eckstein; two brothers: Jeff and Joseph Hendrick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 2:30 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 11:30 until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, the family requests memorials be given to St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is entrusted with services.
