Kate Elizabeth ChristoffersonSeptember 5, 2000 - June 4, 2017Salem - Kate was born on Tuesday, September 5, 2000 in Juneau, Alaska to her parents, Gary & Kimberly Christofferson. She died on Sunday, June 4th, in Salem at the age of 16 as the result of an accident. Kate always had a smile on her face, was always busy doing something, and loved to be with her family and friends. Though her life was cut short, she lived it to the fullest and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.Kate attended school in the Salem area. Her preschool through first grade years were spent at Cornerstone Christian. In second grade, she moved to Sonshine School where she attended through fifth grade. In sixth grade Kate started attending Salem Academy Christian Schools. At the time of her death, she was just completing her junior year. Kate was an excellent student and particularly enjoyed math, science, and robotics. Kate was also involved in sports at SAC, playing soccer her freshman year and then converting to track and cross country. Kate was extremely close to her parents and they did everything together. Kate loved to spend time with her Mom and do craft projects. When Kate was with her Dad, they were often found hunting, fishing, or shooting. Kate loved the outdoors and camping was always an activity she enjoyed. She also liked to play cards with her grandparents and spend time with them.A celebration of life for Kate will be held at Salem Academy, 942 Lancaster Dr. NE, on Saturday, June 10th at 2:00 PM. Private family internment will follow at Belcrest Memorial Park. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Crisis Chaplaincy Services, 1756 22nd St. SE, Salem, OR 97302. Virgil T.
